MEDICAL

The legislative session beginning in January 2005 marks our time to really push for medical marijuana
in Wisconsin. We hope to continue working with Rep. Gregg Underheim of Oshkosh. The proposed
legislation is currently be reworded. He expects to introduce it first.  He wants people to write their own
representatives in support and it is not necessary to write him letters.

Wisconsin Medical Marijuana Poll

Did you know that 80.3% of Wisconsinites and 91.7% of people in Dane County support the Wisconsin State Legislature passing a law to allow seriously ill or terminally ill patients to use marijuana for medical purposes if supported by their physician?

February 2002, Wisconsin medical cannabis activists sponsored a question in the quarterly Wisconsin Trends Survey, a scientific sampling conducted by Chamberlain Research Consultants of Madison, Wisconsin. In the Wisconsin Trends Survey, Chamberlain polls 600 over age 18 in all 72 counties of the state. The margin of error is +/- 3.97%. The question asked was:

"Would you support or oppose the Wisconsin State Legislature passing a law to allow seriously ill or terminally ill patients to use marijuana for medical purposes if supported by their physician?"

The poll found that statewide, 80.3% of respondents answered yes (support), 16% answered no (oppose), and 3.7% don't know/refused. In the Madison region, comprising Dane County, support was 91.7%.
