MADISON: With now only 33 days remaining to pass the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act as of this writing, efforts to move this critical piece of health care legislation are escalating.
On Monday evening in Madison, March 22, JRMMA supporters will be gathering at the Wil-Mar Center at 7pm for a meeting of the Madison chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML). Wil-Mar Center is located at 953 Jenifer St. Madison NORML, founded in 2004, has been a center of state medical cannabis activism since its formation, meeting twice monthly on Madison’s East Side.
I am so happy then steps are being taken to finally get this process to legalize medical marijuana to go through. My sister suffers with MS but the worse part is, she lives on the border of Michigan near Kingsford, MI in Aurora Wisconsin. Her doctor want her to move to Michigan because medical marijuana is legal in MI. Because she has MS, she can’t be put through that stress of moving again, it’s just too hard on her and that’s why I am crossing my fingers in hopes that Wisconsin will see this as a good thing for people like my sister who need it. I would much rather see her take marijuana then her pain pills which isn’t good for her body in the long run.
