Yearly Archives: 2010

EVERY CITY WITH A WALMART should have a Walmart Protest / Support the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act on Saturday March 27th, 2010 starting at noon in their home town. Make your own and bring your own signs, bring your neighbors, bring your neighbors neighbors, bring your friends, tell your senator and state assembly rep to come out.

Take a picture of your rally group in front of the Walmart, try to get a picture of the WALMART store / sign itself in the background, be creative, be unique, be crazy, but have a mission!

Find out who your local reps are and get people to flood their office’s with phone calls of support!

Come back and post your pictures on the AB 554 Wall and the one(s) I think are the best will receive something very meaningful!

THE PHOTO CONTEST IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY. Now go and make us proud!

Madison: State medical cannabis activists have established a daily presence at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison to push for passage of the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act as the 2009-2010 legislative session winds down. There is a real sense of urgency and interest in the bill that extends from rural townships and villages across the state to the largest cities to people watching from around the country. A vast coalition of people across the state are getting involved, enlisting others and doing whatever they can to get the JRMMA passed: “This Bill, This Time!”

Act now to help pass the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act!

AB554/SB368, the Jacki Rickert Medical Marijuana Act remains in committee as sponsors attempt to assemble the votes to pass the bill. At the current time, while many Democratic Assembly representatives and Senators are ready to vote for the JRMMA, the problem is, so far, no Republican members have formally said they would vote for the bill.

As Democratic majorities in both houses are slim, the JRMMA needs supporters of both parties to pass the Legislature this session. We need to get the word out that the JRMMA is about compassion and that Wisconsinites deserve the same freedom to legally access medical cannabis as Americans in the 14 states that now allow this option.

As of today, we have 51 days until April 22, 2010, at which point the JRMMA’s chance of passage will likely expire.

We need to act with urgency now:
