Saturday July 14th, 2012 at 3:00pm
Meeting will be held at Jacob Sieg’s house:
3007 Crescent Ave, Eau Claire, WI. 54703
We will be making the final plans for fundraising at the Country Jam event in Eau Claire on July 19, 20 & 21… The planning meeting is informal and scheduled for Saturday the 14th around 3 in the afternoon.
So far, the plan is to vend hotdogs, brats and sweetcorn as we hand out fliers and mmj information.. We have access to the main parking entrance, and the entire parking lot next to the main lot to vend, hand out information and talk to people…We are still looking for the best prices on bulk corn, pop, water, hotdogs and brats..We will have thousands of fliers printed and ready to fold as well..Any other ideas are welcome…
The chapter meets the last Saturday of each month. Please join them.
Northern Wisconsin NORML meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month for food, fellowship and public meeting. All new attendees to the meeting will receive a free activist kit and the chapter will be giving away some additional products and merchandise at the July 12th, 2012 meeting.
The Northern Wisconsin NORML T shirt Design contest is still underway. We would like to do this on a monthly basis but we need more design submissions by artists. This project just might be a quarterly T-shirt contest without your input and activity! We are planning on printing a limited edition of each design and then moving onto the next! But, we need your help! So artists, you have free reign. People sitting in a circle with good ideas, submit your designs also! We will pick a winner once per month (or quarter).
Check the calendar of events often for updates, things to bring to the meeting and to confirm agendas.
Join us from 4:20pm to 5:30pm as the chapter board of directors, along with members and supporters enjoy fellowship as an informal group gathering together prior to our meeting. The meeting location is the Harmony Cafe, 233 E College Ave in Appleton, which has food and beverages available for sale.
At 5:30pm we begin our general meeting, which is expected to last until 7:00pm, sometimes finishing early, but we have the room reserved up till 8pm in case we need to go longer.
Meetings are open to the general public and you need not a be a member to attend.
Meetings are also broadcast over the Internet via Google + Hangouts. NOTE: YOU WILL NOT BE ON CAMERA UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE, ONLY BOARD OF DIRECTORS MODERATING THE MEETING ARE BROADCAST.
The chapter will post the link once live on the Northern Wisconsin NORML Facebook Page, but it should be this one below:

NOTE: Membership is the key to being a strong chapter and we are currently looking for field directors to work with the Treasurer and fundraising team on specific projects, please contact us at NorthernWiNORML@gmail.com if interested in assisting with this project.

WHAT: Free Fishing Weekend Awareness and Potluck Picnic
WHEN: Sunday June 3rd, 2012 from 9:00am – 12:00pm
WHERE: Green Lake – Dartford Millpond Playground Park
WHY: Create Awareness of Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin and Chapter Fellowship

Bring your fishing gear, a dish to pass, your knowledge for the 3rd Annual Potluck Picnic and Awareness Day to promote the Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin and for members of Northern Wisconsin NORML to enjoy fellowship together during this project. Our venue is Playground Park on the Dartford Mill Pond in Green Lake, Wisconsin. The park will come alive Sunday morning June 3th as Northern Wisconsin NORML, statewide activists and supporters for the reform of marijuana, cannabis and hemp laws gather to celebrate and create awareness for free fishing weekend.
The Wisconsin Department of National resources allows residents to “Fish for Free” the first weekend in June, where no license for in state or out of state residents is required to angle (http://dnr.wi.gov/fish/kidsparents/freefishingweekend.html). The DNR provided lead-free lures, stickers, literature, and a variety of fishing related giveaways as part of the state wide fishing day. Local fishing clubs and merchants also donated time and resources to bring this day together in 2010, 2011 and also this year.
Event Organizer Jay Selthofner had this to say ”Every year this is one event that supporters ask if we are doing again. Not only is it a great way for marijuana reformists to be witnessed in a different light, the event usually draws a diverse group of participants. New friendships are formed and it has become a great networking opportunity, as well as a very non threatening way for people to find out more about our organization. Although the event is not geared towards marijuana reform or education on the topic, the chapter consistently is asked questions and serves as a resource base of information for citizens. This year we plan to have our ‘mobileNORML’ awareness vehicle on site and plan to promote the upcoming Hemp History Week (June 4th-10th). Of course we also try to incorporate using the hemp cannabis seed, or nut, in at least one potluck picnic dish. The main activities include fishing demonstrations, tips from experienced anglers, a tackle box review, knot-tying demonstrations, casting and assistance for first time anglers. Fishing poles and bait will be available for use. Prizes for participating kids!”
Do you love to fish? To assist with this community awareness event, please contact Jay at 920-410-2920 or via email at jay@northernwinorml.org, thank you.
Sean, a field activist with Northern WI NORML is back to work in in his community. Sean is working in the Green Bay area under the direction the Brown County Field Director Brian. If you are interested in joining the growing team of activists, do not hesitate to contact the chapter at NorthernWiNORML@gmail.com or visit the Field Activist Section of their website.
During this street side rally in Green Bay, the chapter has decided to award the person who shows up with the best sign a free membership and/or T-shirt/Activist Kit combo package. Sean will be judging the winner once the pictures are posted on the Northern Wisconsin NORML Facebook Page. So make sure you show up and bring your camera or make sure Sean takes a picture of you and your sign!

We will be meeting on the corner of Main and Webster staying there for a little while then marching past the courthouse to Broadway across the Walnut street bridge, things to bring:
-Water, it’ll be hot.
-Petitions, they can be printed from here: http://www.northernwinorml.org/pyo/; there is one for state medical, ending federal prohibition, and legalizing hemp (we are currently in desperate need of all three).
-Signs, the only rule is no signs that say “Honk for….” this will cause the police to stop and interfere.
-$5, if you are interested in making a donation for an activist kit.
Also if dress nicely if possible (button up shirts, khakis/khaki shorts, dress, etc. ) a positive public image is important for any cause to make real impact, if you can’t that is also fine too.
Bring anyone that is interested!!!
See ya guys out there!
