Wisconsin is only 1 of three states in our country where the citizens can not start a state wide referendum. “NORML” Jeff, field activist with Northern Wisconsin NORML started a petition (Legalize state wide referendums in Wisconsin) using www.signon.org so we the citizens of the state of Wisconsin can vote on matters we feel need to be addressed. This could bring the power back to the people of our great state and give us all a voice of our own!

On Wednesday morning, November 14, 2012 from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM Jay Selthofner, C0-Founder and Treasurer with Northern Wisconsin NORML will be talking about hemp and cannabis on Wisconsin Public Radio and speaking to host Joy Cardin in depth about the issue of hemp cannabis and marijuana reform.
We plan to discuss why marijuana should be legalized, how optimistic I am that it will be legalized in Wisconsin one day, past attempts at legalization in Wisconsin, current cannabis law in Wisconsin and the medical benefits of marijuana.

Movement Grows to Legalize Pot in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE—A Pro-legalization group believes the recent decisions in Colorado and Washington are re-igniting the push for pot to be legalized in Wisconsin.
Members plan to fast track legislation that would legalize it for medical purposes first, opening the door to recreational use as well.
“I believe it’s only a matter of time before it ends up spreading to the rest of the country,” Eric Marsch of Southeastern Wisconsin’s NORML organization told CBS 58′s Elizabeth Fay.
Barbara Notestein of the Safe & Sound organization has the completely opposite view.
“In terms of how people would learn and work and behave,” Nostein says, “I don’t think it would have a positive impact.”
